Apple season is here, and I have so many apples to use up. Here is another apple recipe that's for adults only. ;) It turned out so tasty!
Ingredients
10-12 apples, cut into fours without the core
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon cloves
8 cups water ( or enough to fill the pot a few inches above the apples)
Directions
1. Place apples in a large stockpot with water. Stir in sugar, and spices.
2. Bring to a boil for 1 hour. Then, cover and simmer for 1 more hour.
3. Place strainer over a large bowl, and pour mixture into strainer. Discard apples.
4. Strain the cider again through a cheese cloth by placing it over a bowl. (This will ensure all chunks are removed)
5. Pour into glass pitcher and refrigerate.
1. Fill an 8oz glass with ice.
2. Pour 1 oz shot of vodka over the ice. (Or more, if you want it stronger)
3. Fill the rest with cider. Stir to mix and garnish with a cinnamon stick and an apple slice.
