Chardonnay Day 2017

You guyssssss, It's that time again.. National Chardonnay Day!!!!

I'm celebrating with two amazing wines, Flora Springs 2016 Chardonnay, and Jon Nathaniel 2015 Lavender Hill Chardonnay. I've recently been getting more and more into wines along with the whole process that comes along with it. I've always wanted to get my sommelier; and with all the recent changes in my life have been thinking more and more about it. It could be a fun little road to take, right?!

The Flora Springs 2016 Chardonnay is sourced from sustainably farmed vineyards, which I LOVEEEE. It is fermented in a combination of oak barrels (76%), and stainless steel tanks (24%). It is full-bodied yet keenly balanced with richly-fruited notes of honeydew melon, guava, and pineapple layered with oak derived hints of honey, spice, and unsweetened coconut. Sooooo good!

The Jon Nathaniel 2015 Lavender Hill Chardonnay shows beautiful ripe, up front fruit, with layers of honey, vanilla, spice, pear, and Granny Smith apple flavors. Its creamy texture brings to mind graham  crackers and créme brûlée, yet there's a tension between the brightness of fruit and the rich, toasty, oak-and-less driven flavors. This is a terrifically balanced wine with excellent depth of flavor and concentration and a long, lingering finish.

Do yourself a favor and head over to FloraSprings.com and pick up a couple bottles. You won't be disappointed!

Special thanks to Flora Springs for sponsoring this post.

How are you celebrating #ChardonnayDay?!
