If you’ve read Heartless Hunter, you know that Kristen Ciccarelli doesn't mess around when it comes to high-stakes tension, swoony enemies-to-lovers energy, and morally gray decisions. Rebel Witch picks up right where the first book left off—and trust me, it does not let up.
This is the epic conclusion to The Crimson Moth duology, and wow, what a ride. Rune is on the run, Gideon is out for blood, and the whole Republic is teetering on the edge of rebellion and ruin. Rune is forced to work with Cressida Roseblood (yes, that Cressida), and Gideon is torn between his mission and his feelings—which, of course, are very much not dead and buried. What I Loved:
The angst. The longing. The betrayal. The forced proximity. All the good stuff.
Gideon’s inner conflict was written so well—I was yelling “JUST TALK TO HER!” more than once.
Rune’s growth and power arc. She’s resilient, vulnerable, and you feel her struggle to do what’s right in a world where the lines between good and evil are so blurred.
Spoiler alert: I’m so glad Rune got her happy ending. She deserved that peace after everything she went through.
If you like fantasy with political rebellion, romance that hurts (in a good way), and witches fighting for their future, you’ll love this duology. It’s dramatic, intense, and so satisfying by the end. Definitely recommend reading both books back-to-back if you haven’t yet!
