SPOILER WARNING! If you haven’t read the book yet, proceed with caution.
Scythe & Sparrow is the gripping conclusion to a series that brings together two completely different worlds—Doctor Fionn Kane’s quiet, small-town life and Rose Evans' chaotic circus life. Fionn, a doctor who fled Boston after a failed engagement and career setback, just wants a peaceful life in Nebraska. But his plan for simplicity is quickly disrupted when Rose, a motorcycle performer for the Silveria Circus, crashes into his world (literally) after a botched murder attempt and an injured leg.
I loved this book! The entire trilogy has been amazing, and the conclusion really did not disappoint. The characters were so engaging, and Fionn’s growth throughout the story was so rewarding to witness. Rose, on the other hand, definitely kept me on my toes. Despite her being a horrible murderer, her complexity made her an intriguing character. But it didn’t make me like her actions any more!
One of the things I really liked about the ending was that it wrapped up all 6 characters. It was so satisfying to see how each of their stories came together, giving a sense of closure and completion. The series is addictive, memorable, and cleverly plotted, keeping me hooked from the first page to the last. Even though there are violence and murder, the way it was woven into the plot was so impactful.
I gave this book 4 ½/5 stars. While the series wrapped up beautifully, there were moments where I wanted even more depth. But overall, it’s an amazing trilogy, and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a deep psychological thriller with dark, complex characters and an unforgettable storyline!
