Heartless Hunter by Kristen Ciccarelli completely hooked me from start to finish. The story takes place in the aftermath of a revolution where witches, once powerful rulers, are now hunted and forced into hiding. Rune, a witch with a dangerous secret, spends her days playing the role of a vapid socialite, but at night, she becomes the Crimson Moth, a vigilante who helps witches escape. When a mission goes wrong, she decides to throw the witch hunters off her trail by pretending to court Gideon Sharpe, a ruthless hunter devoted to the revolution. But Gideon, determined to uncover the Crimson Moth’s identity, inserts himself into her world, only to realize there’s more to Rune than he expected. As the lines between duty and desire blur, secrets unravel, and the danger intensifies, making every moment in this book an absolute thrill.
I loved every second of it. The enemy-to-lovers dynamic was intense, the love triangle added so much tension, and the unexpected twists kept me on edge. Every reveal was perfectly timed, and I never felt like the story lost momentum. Plus, the ending left me hanging in the best (and most frustrating) way, and now I’m counting down the days until I can read the sequel. If you love romantic fantasy with high stakes, complicated characters, and a plot that keeps you guessing, this book is a must-read!
