I really liked this story. I thought it was original compared to other romance books I’ve read so far. The characters were good, and having read The Friend Zone first made it fun to see Sloan getting back on her feet and back into her life.
The Premise:
Two years after losing her fiancé, Sloan Monroe is still trying to get her life back on track. Her world begins to change when she adopts a mischievous dog with a “take me home” look in his eyes. Sloan starts to feel more like herself, but then the dog’s owner, Jason, a musician on tour in Australia, reaches out because he wants Tucker back. As their flirty texts turn into long calls, a connection grows. Sloan and Jason must navigate the challenges of his music career and the risk of heartbreak as they consider a future together.
My Thoughts:
I enjoyed the story and thought it was believable overall. I read this while staying at Acker Rock Lookout, so I read it in a day or so. The only part that felt a little cliché was when Jason made Sloan believe he had cheated on her so she would leave him. Other than that, the story felt genuine, and I loved how Sloan and Jason were brought back together. It was rewarding to see Sloan reclaim her life while also exploring a new romance.
This was a good read. If you enjoy romance that is original, heartfelt, and a little playful, this one is worth checking out.
Have you read the Friend Zone Series? What do you think about them?
